This perfect meal for one includes a dozen snow peas, two beautiful and one deformed parmex carrots, and three "bell peppers" that look more like long green peppers.
The peas are invading the carrot-beet plots. It's a weekly chore to detach some of the tendrils from the tall carrot leaves. On a side note: yes, sweet peas! Oh nom nom.
Five days ago the tomatoes looked like they were ready to push the beans off the "balcony."
Today, the tomatoes are succeeding in doing just that. I sense the beginning of a turf war.
The mesclun plot doesn't look too bad after moving several seedlings in between the broccoli and cauliflower plants.
Apple pie, anyone?

23 week old supermarket pepper. It's funny how these look nothing like their mother/father that was a fat one pound bell pepper.
10 week old pomodoro tomato already has a baby tomato.
14 week old parmex carrot in a container.
Had a little accident and all the six week old chubbies came spilling out of the pot. Curse my clumsiness!
Here's a look at the orange part of the chubby seedlings.
Four went back in to the pot, while the other four were placed in the ground. Both groups are doing just fine : )

Took forever to get the gailan and napa seedlings into their new Dixie homes. My quest for neatness is quite time consuming ( -.- )
A cozy 16 degrees Celsius inside the mini greenhouse. It was a scorching 30 last week with the surprise appearance of the blazing sun in early March.
The thyme is loving the temperature. They're a little leggy but getting bushier each day.
The overwintering mesclun seedlings are taking their lovely time to grow.
One month old spinach seedlings are also taking a while to mature.

After a rather slow start in February, the green tips are now growing like mad :DI added a few more shallots to the pot this afternoon.
The second I saw this packet of carrot parmex at Lowe's, I knew these "chubbies" were going home with me. I planted them in 3x3 rows in a 7.5'' container.
Inches of snow has melted, creating a swampy home for the winter vegetables.
I pulled out all the root vegetables like these teeny tiny carrots in order to prevent unnecessary rotting.
They didn't get the chance to live life and fufil their destiny - to jump into my mouth.

Unfortunately, I can't say the same for this one. On a side note, I had to pull out some weeds underneath the snow like the small one at the top of the picture. If my peppers and eggplants were as resilient, I'd have a basket of frosty vegetables!

I cautiously dug around the roots to see whether or not I should green bin it. Pretty much half the vegetables in my field have either bolted or have been eaten by slugs.
Great! I will have to put a giant bottle over it before snow starts to fall
Cherry Belle Radish. A few holes, nothing major unlike the poor neighbouring cauliflower and broccoli plants
Some sort of carrot, perhaps one of the "Nantes." I really need to go on a weed rampage soon with all the wild plants and grass everywhere
Laxton's Progress Peas. Got the seeds from a shady dollar store, so my fingers are crossed that it won't grow into a mutant plant
It's during times like this that I wish there was an SLR camera at home. I love my point-and-shoot camera overall, but it's a pain when photographing smaller objects like seeds and seedlings. Anyhoo, carrots are a few days behind the already sprouted radish seedlings, but it's all good as long as they come out healthy
